Experience empowered childbirth and feel revitalised with our tantric birth mentorship.
Discover ancient tantric tools backed
by science which help women to
trust their birthing bodies.
In today’s society, many women feel disconnected
from pregnancy, childbirth, and motherhood.
Some of us learn rather disempowering, dramatic stories… that pregnancy will make us sick and childbirth will be horrendously painful. It’s assumed to be a taboo topic for mothers so we don’t ask questions and grow up fearing
our power to birth life.
Sometimes, we’re reassured by professionals that we don’t need to know our power because they will manage the birth for us… and we’re judged if we decide to trust
the wisdom of our bodies.
And then it continues… despite needing at least six weeks of deep rest as
we nurture new life,
we can be rushed and pressured into hosting friends and family, going back to work, and getting back those six-pack abs…
It’s no surprise to me that many women dread the whole process.
What if we were told a different story where…
birth works
women are trusted and listened to
as new mothers, we’re cared for by our community
every birth is unique and we can move at our own pace
orgasmic sensations and sounds are natural and very helpful
birth can bring challenges which help us remember our power
our womanly bodies are beautiful and worthy of worship in all phases
the intuitive intelligence in our wombs is deeply respected and revered
pain as part of the process of birth is different from pain when something is wrong
the full-time job of motherhood is one of the most valuable roles in the community
sensuality and sexuality during pregnancy, childbirth, and motherhood are celebrated
birth has the potential to be a life-changing initiation known as a kundalini awakening!
This might sound like a far-fetched dream… but it used to be our story… and it still can be!
Hi, I’m Katie Nicholson
Over the past six years, I’ve helped hundreds of women to trust their bodies, feel confident, and experience more pleasure by remembering how powerful our wombs are… the funnest type of feminism!
As a Women’s Empowerment Mentor specialising in Birth, Sexuality, and Menstruality, I share tried and tested tools which help women cultivate sensuality, creativity, and purposeful aliveness. This is most potently when supporting mothers through the initiation of childbirth.
Finding this empowerment has been a wild ride. I’ve travelled from the foothills of the Himalayas to learn classical tantra, to the jungles of Iquitos to apprentice as an Ayahuascero, to home soil where I continue to learn birthkeeping with two of the most powerful women I know, Kate Woods and Uma Dinsmore-Tuli!
During my time in Brighton, I’ve studied tantra and female sexuality as part of my MSc Psychology at the University of Sussex, shared baby yoga in a nursery, and created a wellness centre in Hove called Neighbourhuud where I host private and group sessions.

“I felt held and listened to. Her warmth and loving presence made me feel extremely grounded and comfortable. I felt free to express myself, be open and vulnerable.”

“One of my biggest compliments is that through everything we worked on together, it never generated any sort of stress for me as far as worrying what I needed to be doing better… She is an amazing soul whose only intention in our journey was clearly to help as best as possible, and she has helped me more than I ever expected… I really felt heard by Katie and honestly consider her a friend now.”

It’s helpful to begin your mentorship towards the beginning of your pregnancy so we have plenty of time and nothing feels rushed. The mentorship will end 12 months after you begin. So, you will have about 3-6 months of pregnancy support and 3-6 months of postnatal support.

Always! If you already have lots of support and you don’t need the full mentorship, I recommend choosing which elements feel most nourishing to you.
However, some services have a minimum quantity:
x3 Empowerment Sessions
x2 weeks on call either side of your due date
x24 hours of Birth Support
x4 postnatal meals -
When considering how much you’d like to invest in pregnancy, childbirth, and postnatal support, please keep in mind that the value we place on supporting new families in our culture is lacking.
In India, it can be normal for a mother to receive a daily massage for the first 40 days of postnatal recovery according to ayurveda (life science)! And yet in our culture, we ignore the fact that most new mothers are healing an internal wound the size of a dinner plate so we expect them to jump straight into action with zero support…
…Moreover, most people in the UK spend at least £10,000 on their wedding day. The birth of a child and the support mothers and new families deserve are significantly more important (in my humble opinion).
All of that being said, each birth is unique and calls for different levels of support. So, please feel into what is right for you. We can always add or subtract support as we go along.

We do our work because we are deeply devoted to serving mothers and life on earth. We really do give our everything so it’s essential that we receive enough energy to continue being of service.
More importantly, we must value our work appropriately so that mothers, fathers, caregivers, and eventually, our society as a whole, appreciate the value of this most important moment in life.
However, we also believe that every mother deserves support! If you are experiencing financial hardship, you can apply for doula support with Doulas Without Borders, a wonderful charity I occasionally volunteer with.
Please also get in touch to see if it’s possible to create space for you in my pregnancy and postnatal yoga classes at Neighbourhuud.

Although our main focus is supporting women through the transition to motherhood, this very much includes fathers, other caregivers, and of course, your beautiful baby! Birthing partners are invited to attend Empowerment Sessions, Pregnancy and Postnatal Yoga, and are encouraged to lead the support for the mother during the birth if that’s what you choose together. Babies (who aren’t yet crawling) are also very welcome in Postnatal Yoga!
